Sirius now supports LMEpassport submissions!
We’re excited to announce that Sirius now offers a new, efficient way for metals and mining companies to manage LMEpassport submissions. With this feature, companies can easily complete LMEpassports using Sirius, automating much of the process and significantly reducing manual input.
What is LMEpassport?
LMEpassport is a digital, centralised platform developed by the London Metal Exchange (LME). It enables producers of LME-listed metals to disclose their sustainability credentials, including information required by the LME’s responsible sourcing programme.
It also serves as a digital storage for Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for metals delivered into and out of LME-listed warehouses. Over the years, the platform has gained significant traction in the metals industry, with its use steadily expanding.
👉 Over half of LME-listed brands are voluntarily disclosing their sustainability efforts, with more than 622 sustainability disclosures made as of April 2024.
👉 2.78 million CoA records are currently stored on the platform, making it a central hub for tracking key industry data.
👉 Starting in October 2024, primary aluminium producers will be required to upload CoA information before the metal leaves the production site, digitising CoAs and improving operational efficiency across the industry.
The LMEpassport aims to provide centralised transparency for sustainability-related data, helping companies meet the growing market demands for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) information throughout the supply chain.
